'Save the Mothers' is JOICFP's Theme at EXPO 2005

JOICFP has one simple message that it wants to promote 'Save the Mothers in Developing Countries'. To do this, three key tools used to save mothers in JOICFP's many activities will be highlighted in the JOICFP pavilion: the safe delivery kit; the volunteers; and reconditioned bicycles.

Activities

In order to engage and motivate the public, 16 different activities are planned, including a maternal health quiz, 'find the safe delivery kit', and trying out a weighty pregnancy simulator.

In addition, the Family Planning Association of Tanzania, JOICFP's counterpart in Tanzania, will attend and hold a joint workshop with JOICFP on safe motherhood.

The JOICFP pavilion will include a reproduction of a Tanzanian village dwelling so that visitors can fully appreciate the real living situation of villagers and the situation regarding safe motherhood and maternal health.

It is expected that through the pavilion and its displays, JOICFP will be able to greatly increase its profile among the public since the month of May is expected to attract close to one million visitors.
