Twin Angels Ready to Fly

"Twin Angels" is the title of a TV drama and picture theater produced for advocacy and Behaviour Change Communication (BCC) in Myanmar, supported by the Packard Foundation under the umbrella of the UNFPA Special Program of Assistance. The objective is to develop BCC and advocacy tools through a multi-solution process, and to simultaneously build the capacity of national project and technical staff.

Twin Angels promotes four key areas:

  • Safe motherhood, specifically in order to encourage women to receive antenatal care at least four times
  • Greater utilization of health facilities in a timely manner in cases of complication or emergency
  • Male involvement and support for maternal health
  • Significant roles and action that can be taken by the community to support health

The editing of the Myanmar version of the TV drama for advocacy is complete, and the program is expected to be aired 48 times over six months.

The paintings for the BCC picture theater, produced by a local Myanmar artist, have now been digitally photographed in preparation for design, layout and printing. In addition, the narration text is being prepared in Myanmar, as well as in Tokyo for English and Japanese language versions for international advocacy.

Produced with JOICFPfs DigiPlan and Approduction approach, the production included on-the-job training for the staff of the Central Health Education Bureau, Department of Health, MOH (CHEB/DHP/MOH).

DigiPlan assists local counterpart agencies through Approduction training to maximize the utilization of raw materials through digitization so that the digital contents can be constructed in a variety of formats in a needs-specific manner.

Myanmar is expected to develop other materials such as postcards, posters and a radio drama, using the materials made through the gTwin Angelsh production.
