Call for Letters
to Raise Awareness on Safe Motherhood
From May 1st to 31st, JOICFP will participate in EXPO 2005
in Nagoya (see http://joicfp.or.jp/eng/e-news/2004_dec/13-EXPOForEnews.php)
As part of its campaign to raise awareness of the needs of
safe motherhood, JOICFP is asking people all over the world
to send "letters to their mother" for display in
the JOICFP pavilion.
The themes of the letters are open, for example "What
my mother means to me," or "The color of my mother,"
or "Who my mother is." The letters can be written
on any circular suitable medium, such as paper, cloth or wood,
and need to be less than 10 inches/25 centimeters in diameter.
A picture of the writer with age and location accompanying
the text would be appreciated.
Entries are requested from both genders of all
ages.
JOICFP is also looking for volunteers who can engage in public
activities such as beating a Tanzanian drum or reading from
a picture book, in the JOICFP pavilion in the NGO Global Village
at the expo.
Please send your letters and offers to volunteer by email,
fax or airmail to:
