| Continued Support from Business Sector for JOICFP On 14th November, the Ebara Association of Enterprise Management (EAEM) held its 12th annual fund-raising event in support of JOICFP. Once again the event was a performance of traditional Japanese story telling (rakugo) by the most famous and popular narrator in Japan, Shunputei Koasa (see eNEWS #15).
This was the third time for Koasa to deliver a performance in support of JOICFP through EAEM, and many people in the audience had seen him before at this annual event. Such was his popularity that the venuefs 550 seats were sold and there was only standing room.
JOICFP and EAEM stay in close contact throughout the year, and EAEM looks forward to making this social contribution. Other enterprise associations also pay attention to how EAEM is carrying out corporate social activities and learn of JOICFP in this way.
JOICFP helps to motivate EAEM members by informing the audience of how money gathered at previous events has been used to help those in developing countries. Money from last yearfs event was used for relief work in the Asian tsunami of December 2004.
The audience has the option of paying the entrance fee in cash or in unused prepaid cards, which can then later be sold, and this year nearly one million yen was collected.
